JOHNSTOWN, PA (March 22, 2021) – Veteran Community Initiatives, Inc., (VCI) is partnering with Warriors Rock to air a televised concert featuring the stories of local veterans, March 27, 28 and 29 on ABC 23 and Fox 8.
Warriors Rock is a non-profit that performs concerts to tell the story of our nation’s heroes and benefit veteran organizations. Their shows feature veterans from all branches, wars and conflicts. Each show is a unique experience based on the veterans that they honor. The music can vary across all eras and genres. Each show ends with a touching finale that honors all veterans in the audience and heightens the patriotism of everyone. It is an amazing opportunity to honor those who have served our country.
Tom Caulfield, VCI’s president and director, says he feels this type of program is a welcome relief for viewers.
“With all of the troubling news we’ve had, over the past year, due to the pandemic, we’re happy to provide people with something as uplifting as the patriotic stories of our veterans,” Caulfield said. “It’s an opportunity to celebrate our country and not denigrate it.”
Warriors Rock concerts feature 8-12 local veterans, interviewed prior to the show, who share their military experiences. During the interview, the veteran is also asked if there was a particular song that was special to them during that time. A video of their interview is shown to the audience and a 14-piece professional band lead by Gary Racan performs the veteran’s requested song. The band also performs other musical selections to create a truly immersive and visual experience.
 
“Both Gary and myself are more than excited to bring Warriors Rock to the Johnstown, Altoona &  Somerset areas,” said Kim Racan, who founded Warriors Rock with her husband Gary. “We love presenting the stories of the real celebrities of our country, our Veterans! To unite people through music is the best therapy there is in this post-Covid year. I know you all will enjoy the stories, the music and the renewal of patriotism that you will experience in this show! We are so proud to partner with VCI, who is such a valuable asset to your community!”
 
The program will air on ABC 23 on March 27 at 7:00 PM and March 29 at 5:00 PM. It will also air on Fox 8 March 28 at 11:00 AM and March 29 at 9:00 AM.
