Beautiful scenery, delicious food, live music, welcoming hosts and charming farms: all of that and more await those who participate in the Chamber’s first Bridges & Barns Farm to Table Progressive Dining Experience.
     The day’s fun begins at stunning Woodhaven B&B in Schellsburg, next to the historic Colvin Covered Bridge. Appetizers and beer tastings  highlight this visit to Dan and Bryn Keller’s lovely local  getaway and new wedding/event venue, showcasing their recently-renovated barn, brimming with rustic elegance and providing cozy gathering space in the event of springtime rain.
     Guests will then board buses for a leisurely jaunt through the Bedford County  countryside, through or past a few of our historic covered bridge landmarks for photographs.  Guests may BYOB if they wish.
     Monsour sheep farm is our second farm stop, for grass fed beef sliders and delicious sides as part of this delectable food course.
     The farm/vacation property offers stunning views, hundreds of sheep (springtime is lambing season), working dogs, and an enchanting farm store.
     Just minutes away, the bus will stop next at Hospitality Spring Farm for dessert and meadow tea, providing a unique look at this historic Dutch Corner property, now home to the Nelson Phero Family, who takes pride in producing delicious local food without toxic substances.
    Hospitality Spring Farm specializes in fresh produce, including heirloom varieties, pastured meats, free-range eggs, soap, cut flowers and more.  You can visit their seasonal farm stand outside of Fisher’s Country Store during harvest time.
    Leaving the Phero property, we’ll return to Woodhaven to finish the evening around a campfire with s’mores and other goodies, as well as live music by local favorite, Coltt Winter Lepley.
    Each of our stops offer shelter in the event of poor weather, and buses provide save and responsible transportation throughout the day’s activities.
    Participating businesses to date include Woodhaven, Monsours Farm, Hospitality Spring Farm, Olde Bedford Brewing Company and Omni Bedford Springs Resort with more to come.
