SUMMARY:Lunch-n-Learn - Healthy Boundaries: Caring for Aging Loved Ones
DESCRIPTION:The Chamber\, in partnership with Community LIFE invite you to this FREE lunch-and-learn program to learn about ways to provide care for aging loved ones while keeping healthy boundaries and preserving your relationship with you parents\, grandparents\, partners and loved ones. If you ask yourself: "Who am I worried about?" and/or find yourself feeling like you "need a break"\, this is a program for you. \n\n\n\nSpeaker Terri Avery will share information about why healthy boundaries are so important.\n\n\n\nAbout Our Speaker: Terri Averi\, RN\, BSN\, MSN is the Supportive Care Manger for Community LIFE. Terri has 37 years of experience with Behavioral Health. She started her career in Pediatric Psychiatry and then progressed to Emergency Psychiatry. She then spent 25 years as the Behavioral Health director for UPMC Homecare. Her current role is at CL where she manages the Behavioral Health and Palliative care programs.\n\n\n\nProviding care to persons with Behavioral Health needs is her passion. Terri also had a lecturing company that focused on teaching professions\, layperson\, and caregivers about varied forms of care and how to provide it. \n\n\n\nThe very basis of care is setting boundaries for yourself and those in which you interact. During this program\, she will discuss what is a boundary\, why do we need them\, and how can we make them automatic.\n\n\n\nTerri has three children and two are in the military. They frequently credit their success in this field to having firm structure as kids. They may not have appreciated that when they were younger. You are never too young or too old to learn this.\n\n\n\nGuests will also have the opportunity to ask your questions\, and if interested\, learn more about the services of Community LIFE.
